The new Northern Territory Designated Area Migration Agreement (NT DAMA) lets the Northern Territory (NT) employers sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers for work visa Subclass 482. The agreement allows employers to sponsor skilled workers for occupations which are not available under the standard visa arrangements, with some concessions for English language necessity and salary levels. And for the first time ever, a pathway to PR Visa is being offered under DAMA. A broader range of occupations is available for work visa sponsorship. Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) Australia Occupation List 2019 As we discussed in our previous blog about new five year Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) commenced on 1 January 2019. The programme known as DAMA is announced in two regions of the Australia i.e Warrnambool region in Victoria and the Northern Territory (NT) which are facing skilled labor shortage. The NT Government and the Federal Government have shortlisted 117 occupations ranging from chef to web designer to accountants to child care worker, where employers can recruit skilled migrants if they are unable to fill positions locally. 36 occupations have been added to and 29 have been removed from the list of occupations in NT DAMA II which offers pathway to Permanent Residents (PR) to Australia .
